Swimming Pool Equipment

Everything Swimming Pools is a licensed and insured company that takes pride in being up to date with swimming pool and spa technology. The equipment mentioned below gives the homeowner the chance to be more energy efficient and environmentally conscientious, while making their swimming pool and spa as enjoyable as possible. Saving on gas and electrical expense, allowing for better sanitization with filtration, and adding aesthetic value with multi colored swimming pool and spa lighting is all an option.
Swimming Pool Heaters
Swimming pool heaters have become more compact; they heat much faster, and use much less gas or propane. The state of California adopted legislation in 2005 that made certain swimming pool heater functions mandatory. Heaters now are to have a thermal efficiency of at least 78%, are no longer to have continuously burning pilot lights, and are to have easily accessed “ON/OFF” switches located on the outside of the heater cabinet.
Low NOx heaters have also become an option. These heaters are much more environmentally friendly, by reducing emission of harmful nitrogen oxide which contributes to smog and acid rain. Several counties and cities in California have already adopted measures to ensure that all new heaters installed in their areas are Low NOx heaters. Call us today at ACT to find out about a more efficient, cost effective heater for your pool or spa.

Swimming Pool Pumps
Starting January 1, 2008, the state of California has adopted legislation that will make it mandatory that all pool pump motors used for circulation of swimming pools and/or spas that are 1 HP or over must be able to operate in a minimum of two speeds. If you look at the energy consumption of a regular single speed pool motor, it consumes three times the electricity of a new refrigerator. While this legislation is not requiring every homeowner to replace their pool pumps, it will cause homeowners to upgrade their pumps when their existing motors wear out.
In order to comply with the new legislation, many pool equipment manufacturers have come out with new pumps that are variable speed, programmable, and much more efficient than the last generation of pool pumps. Some of these new pumps can actually operate for the same expense as running a 100 Watt light bulb, equating to a huge cost savings for homeowners. Call us at Everything Swimming Pools for more information about a more efficient pump for your swimming pool.
Swimming Pool Filters
There are three main types of swimming pool filters: diatomaceous earth (D.E.), sand, and cartridge.

Diatomaceous earth filters
are the most common residential swimming pool filters installed in southern California. While these filters offer the optimum in water filtration, the D.E. itself is a carcinogen in its dry form causing many counties in Southern California to ban homeowners from backwashing D.E. filters into sewers and storm drains. These laws also ban the cleaning of filter components where D.E. can enter the sewer system or storm drains. With this legislation and the possibility of fines, it is becoming extremely difficult to perform routine maintenance to D.E. filters.

Sand filters
are most commonly installed on commercial pools, but are sometimes found at residential pools as well. Sand filters do not offer as efficient filtration as D.E. or cartridge filters, and are not as easy to clean. This means more problems for customers when they have algae blooms because of the possibility of algae spoors remaining in the filter media, causing recurring algae blooms. The above reasons are why we at Everything Swimming Pools feel that cartridge filters are the best option for filtration in residential pool settings.

Cartridge filters
contain removable media filters, these cartridges can be removed and cleaned without the need to dispose of harmful D.E. or the expense of having to remove and dispose of several hundred pounds of sand. Call us today to get more information about replacing your swimming pool filter.

When we purchased our house, the pool needed lots of work. We spoke with several companies and almost all recommended we remodel, until we found Everything Swimmming Pools. They suggested to acid wash the plaster and clean and repair the pool tile. For a fraction of what we were quoted for remodeling, our pool now looks great. Their staff was easy to work with and professional. I will recommend Everything Swimming Pools to all my friends.

It was such a comfort to know that Everything Swimming Pools could not only clean my pool’s tile, but do so without draining the pool. We were able to swim the same day! Thanks for all your hard work. I’m a believer!!
